In August 2020 , Seroond began as a pilot program in Dilijan ’ s Takhta Primary School in partnership with the Armenian Ministry of Science , Culture , and Sports and the Tavush regional government . Amidst a global pandemic and the outbreak of the Artsakh war in September , Seroond launched with ten teachers and 47 students . By December , the number of enrolled students nearly doubled and by June , so did their academic achievement and social-emotional skills . One year later , Seroond has attracted over 100 students to Takhta Primary School , and the program has expanded to Nerkin Karmiraghbyur Secondary School and Ijevan Gymnasium . Today , 53 Seroond teachers , three principals , and five Alumni-Ambassadors are part of Seroond ’ s three-year transformation program . It directly impacts more than 350 learners and 700 parents , and reaches about 4,000 community members .
