Seroond
In 2021 , Teach For Armenia grew its Seroond Leadership Development Pathway from a single pilot program into a network of three schools in the Tavush region . Seroond is a three-year , wholeschool transformation program that brings together teachers and administrators in existing schools with Teach For Armenia Alumni-Ambassadors in instructional and leadership roles . We do this by :
● Enlisting existing principals who are committed to our vision and mission ;
● Engaging existing teachers who are eager to learn ;
● Supporting Teach For Armenia Alumni-Ambassadors to deepen their skills as instructional leaders ;
● Creating opportunities for our Alumni-Ambassadors to grow as school leaders ;
● Creating space for innovative teaching practices in order to develop Student-Leaders ;
● Including parents and community stakeholders in the ecosystem of teaching and learning .
Seroond aims to foster leadership at every level of a school community . Through Change-Based Learning , students learn to identify opportunities in their communities and design and implement Student-Led Innovation Projects that spark change . At Seroond , parents learn how to facilitate learning at home and in the classroom through workshops , team-building activities , and leveraging their own strengths through peer-learning . The Seroond model also focuses on developing and strengthening social-emotional skills such as self-awareness and control , social cognition , effective communication , responsible decision-making , consistency , and curiosity throughout the entire school community .
