Recruitment

At the heart of our movement for educational equity are Teacher-Leaders who commit to moving to rural communities and teaching for a period of two years . Teach For Armenia ’ s Recruitment Team is responsible for informing people about our Leadership Development Program and attracting mission-driven college graduates and professionals to apply . This team increases awareness of our program and recruits people who are excited to take on this very important role at the front lines of our movement in Armenia and Artsakh .
Recruitment for our seventh cohort of Teacher-Leaders began amidst tremendous upheaval and uncertainty . The global pandemic was unfolding , and in September 2020 , just weeks before our recruitment campaign was scheduled to launch , Azerbaijan attacked Armenia and Artsakh in what would become a 44-day war . Tens of thousands of people lost their homes and approximately 4,000 soldiers and 76 civilians were killed . Armenia is a small country and no one was untouched by the violence .
As a result , we postponed the launch of our 2020-2021 recruitment campaign by a month . Once the campaign kicked off , the Recruitment Team had to navigate the fragile peace and unstable political
