“ I joined Teach for Armenia ’ s two-year Leadership Development Program with the desire to change the world for the better . I wanted to be the change that I wished to see in the education system , to become the teacher I wanted to have when I was a student , and to provide all students with access to an excellent education ,” said Alumni-Ambassador Mariam Marikyan . “ At the encouragement of Manuk Khachatrayn , a Teach For Armenia Alumni-Ambassador and former staff member , I signed up to implement the capacity development program for secondary teachers implemented jointly by Teach For Armenia and UNICEF Armenia . Coordinating the program has helped me to better understand the idea of inclusive education , the needs of students , and how to be an effective mentor to teachers .”
