Change-Based Learning is a communityfocused approach to inquiry-based learning that leverages the national syllabus to promote student leadership . Through the program , students identify needs in their communities and work collaboratively to design and implement solutions called Community Impact Projects .
Beginning in March , COVID-19 changed the course of the entire year , and with that , our own plans and priorities . Immediately after schools were closed for in-person learning , we began an overhaul of our Teacher Leadership Academy , migrating all activities online . We also seized the opportunity to refocus the training around our newly minted Theory of Leadership , the Teach For Armenia Kochari . Over the course of six weeks , we completely redesigned our intensive summer teacher training program around a Virtual Student Leadership Camp . To do so , we created 33 video modules with a comprehensive set of tools that trained Teacher-Leaders on how to implement Change- Based Learning . Along with the video modules , Teacher-Leaders were coached by our team through daily debriefs and reflections .

Fifty Teacher-Leaders piloted the methodology during our three week-long Virtual Student Leadership Camp in July . The camp included 300 students from 24 rural communities around Armenia . Through the camp , Teach For Armenia piloted the use of two new metrics : a Student Leadership Self-Inventory and a Student Voice Rubric .
The Student Leadership Self-Inventory is a self-perception survey which measures the extent to which students believe they have grown through the learning process . The Inventory measures leadership competencies in our students corresponding to the skills present in our Student Vision and Community Impact Philosophy , as enshrined in our Kochari . The Inventory consists of 29 statements and measures four main
