Placement

“ Cooperation with Teach For Armenia is especially important for small communities ,” said Nelly Ziroyan , principal of Darbnik Secondary School . “ Through the program , schools are able to fill vacant and very demanding positions , making quality education accessible to all children . By partnering with Teach For Armenia , schools receive digital devices and data cards that enhance learning . They also become hubs for extracurricular activities that promote learning and community development . As a result , students become more engaged at school and with their communities .”
At the heart of its mission , Teach For Armenia is focused on promoting opportunity in every corner of the nation — most importantly , in Armenia ’ s rural communities . Since its founding , Teach For Armenia has been committed to placement in regions that need teachers the most , including Artsakh and Armenia ’ s mountainous and border villages . In 2020 , Teach For Armenia successfully placed 90 % of its incoming Teacher-Leaders before the start of the Teacher Leadership Academy , and 100 % by the first day of school in September . That included replacing outgoing fourth generation Teacher-Leaders in 36 of our 47 partner schools , as well as placing Teacher- Leaders in ten new schools in Armenia and Artsakh .
With an eye towards building long-lasting partnerships in our network , we also developed a third-year extension opportunity . This provided a subset of Teacher-Leaders the chance to continue teaching by leveraging our core program through key strategic initiatives , such as our partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR ).
In May 2020 , the Placement Team administered a survey to all 100 of our partner schools , through which 90 % of school leaders expressed that they want more Teach For Armenia Teacher-Leaders at their schools .

90 % of partner schools would place more teach for armenia Teacher-Leaders at their school .
