Where Do I Belong?
Congratulations to Ian Nisbet S5 who
entered the ESRC’s Social Science for
Schools ‘Where Do I Belong?’
Photographic competition. From over
2000 entries Ian’s photograph was
commended by the judges and will
appear in an exhibition at The Strand
Gallery in London from 18 - 23 March
2014. Well done Ian, a very lovely
photograph.
Theatre Trip
Pupils from S1-S4 enjoyed a long-awaited trip to the Edinburgh Festival Theatre to see
the National Theatre’s spectacular production of “War Horse”. There were plenty of
tears and laughter as well as utter amazement at the skill and versatility of the
puppeteers who brought Joey and his friends so convincingly to life. Hope our librarians
are ready for a rush on the LRC as pupils battle for a copy of Michael Morpurgo’s novel
to read and read again! Thanks to all pupils for their excellent behaviour and attention
throughout the trip.
P3B Egypt Project
The pupils in P3B have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Ancient Egypt this term. They
have spent a lot of time doing their own individual and group research on various
aspects of Egyptian life. In these photos you can see the Sarcophagus that pupils have
made. They each contain a mummy, jewels, coins and treasures that would be found in
the tombs of many Egyptian Pharaohs. These were planned and prepared for homework and completed in class last week. They are on display in the Primary building near
our classroom - Room 8.
