MEET THE PARTICIPANTS
Chelsea Prior (Good-Bye
Glinda) This is Chelsea’s first
time acting for TCR, although she
can usually be found backstage
for the shows in the auditorium.
What this means is that she’s
crazy nervous, but also stoked to
see how the other half live!
Steven Rogers (I Put a Spell On
You, Look for America) This is
Steven’s first performance with
TCR. Steven has been in Annie
as Daddy Warbucks,
Seussical as Horton and Improv
in LA and Las Vegas before
recently moving to Cedar
Rapids. Steven is very thankful
to be acting in these wonderful
plays and is looking forward
to being in more productions in
Cedar Rapids.
Jen Rouse (Playwright, For the
Care and Control of the Insane)
Jen works as a consulting
librarian at Cornell College in
Mount Vernon, IA. Her poems
have appeared in Poetry, Poet
Lore, MadHat Lit, Hot Tin Roof,
and Trapeze. Her play, Honey
Song, found a home in the
Underground New Play Festival
at Theatre Cedar Rapids in 2014.
Roxy Running (World of Lovelies)
Roxy’s been involved in theatre
since high school and made her
local debut in 2008 with Iowa
City Community Theatre’s
production of The King and I.
You may have seen Roxy onstage
or backstage in productions with
Iowa City Community Theatre,
Dreamwell, Fourth Room
Theatre, or Theatre Cedar Rapids.
She was most recently seen on
stage with City Circle in William
Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead.
When she’s not doing theatre,
she enjoys knitting, singing with
the Sisters of Song, and sleeping,
but that doesn’t happen often.
Laura Anne Schmidt (Playwright,
The Eleventh Chapter) Laura is
an Iowa native, from Cedar
Rapids, and she is currently
attending the University of
Minnesota-Twin Cities to study
English and Journalism. Her
plays have been performed
across the Midwest at Theatre
Cedar Rapids’ Underground
New Play Festival, The Minnesota
Fringe Festival, Iowa State
University’s One Act Festival,
University of Minnesota’s
Playwright’s Festival, University of
Minnesota’s English
