MEET THE PARTICIPANTS
Denise Allamand (Feeding)
Denise is beyond thrilled to make
her acting debut in this festival.
She is eternally grateful to Ken
(director) and Joe (writer) for
casting her in Feeding. Also,
thank you to her son, Eric,
brothers, sisters, and in-laws for
the complete support and
positive encouragement. She
needs to mention her long friend,
Patricia, who has always
believed in her long before she
believed in herself. She could not
be here without all of them and
sends back her love.
Masters of Divinity with Earlham
School of Religion. This is her
second Underground Festival
performance as well as her
second time breathing life into
one of Jennifer Rouse’s engaging
choreo-poems.
Joseph C. Anderson (Playwright,
Feeding) J.C. is an Iowa born
fiction writer. Primarily a novelist,
he currently has a series of Young
Adult Fantasy novels being slowly
released. He currently lives in
Iowa City with his spice, and is
attending the University of Iowa,
and looking for a workshop that
he can call home.
Barbara Berns (For the Care and
Control of the Insane) Barbara
Berns is thrilled to be able to
cross an item off her bucket list by
being in her first TCR production.
Thank you, Aaron, for giving me
this chance. Being a social
worker by training, she would
also like to note the irony that
the character she plays is one of
social works early leaders,
Dorothea Dix. When not
practicing her lines for this play,
you will find Barbara working
as a volunteer coordinator at St.
Luke’s Hospital where she plays
mother to 400 or so high school
and college volunteers as well as
April Barnhart (For the Care and
Control of the Insane)
Hummingbird Girl, aka April is a
Quad City Native, now living in
the Corridor with her
adorable husband and dog. In
May 2014, she completed her
Jeremiah Barnhart (Feeding)
Jeremiah currently resides in Iowa
City with his beautiful and
talented wife (April Barnhart) and
their corgi. In his first
performance ever, Jeremiah will
be playing the role of Jake in
Feeding.
