Amy Rehnstrom (Ruth) Amy feels
very lucky to have been selected
to be a part of Calendar Girls.
This is Amy’s seventh
appearance on the TCR stage
and the only one in which her
nudity was actually encouraged
and permitted. Amy teaches
microbiology and forensic
science (both human and
veterinary) at Kirkwood during
the day. She apologizes to all
students past and present in
attendance and her Dad, Bernie,
for any psychological
scarring caused by her nudity.
She dedicates her performance
to the women of her own local
“WI” (Anne, Diane, Lynne, and
Ruth), her long suffering partner
Cathy, and of course, Peg-her
three legged cat.
Anna Slife (Elaine) Calendar
Girls is Anna’s first performance
with TCR. She has been
performing as a dancer since the
age of three and has dabbled in
acting, as well as public
speaking, while in high school.
She is very excited to get back
into acting and would like to
thank all of her friends and family
for their constant support.
Nina Swanson (Chris) Nina is
returning to the boards at TCR
after a more than 20 year hiatus.
Her last performance at TCR
was in Lettice and Loveage with
Cherryl Moon Thomason, but hse
is probably better known as Peter
Pan or Guinevere along with
many other roles from way back
in the nineties! She is thrilled to
be disrobing for a good cause.
Cherryl Moon Thomason (Jessie)
Cherryl has often appeared
onstage at Theatre Cedar Rapids,
the Classics at Brucemore, with
Urban Theater Project of Iowa, at
the Old Creamery and at ITAC in
Amana over the past few
decades. Most recently, she
was the Assistant Director of Our
Town at Brucemore as well as
appearing onstage. And she
played Sister Aloysius in Doubt,
A Parable in TCR’s Grandon
Studio. When not on stage, her
favorite role is “GraMoon” or
“MaMoon” or “Moon”
(depending on who you talk to!)
to her granddaughters. “Much
love and appreciation goes to
my husband, Ron, and to the rest
of my fabulous family.” Going
from playing a straight-laced nun
in Doubt, to a Yorkshire Calendar
Girl in the same year has been a
blast. “Thanks for the
opportunity, Angie!”
