"Pink Out Week means so much to the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha. We host a week long of events raising money and awareness for breast cancer every October. This is what we prepare for all year long and it is so near and dear to our hearts.

Most of the sisters will tell you their favorite event is the Balloon Release, our kick-off to start Pink Out Week. Here, we sell biodegradable pink balloons to anyone who wants to honor someone they know who fought against the disease. It takes place by the beautiful fountain next to the Science Complex, where we dye the water pink in honor of breast cancer victims and survivors.

After several moving speeches, and mingling time, we have the balloon-release ceremony, and watch everyone's pink balloons float away in the sky, symbolizing the hope and fight of those who battle breast cancer.

It is one of the most inspiring and moving events to be part of. Every year, the guests that come to this event grow, and we are so happy to engage the community in the fight against breast cancer." --Meghan Coppinger
