It was the final screening of the season at Heathryfold Park when Aberdeen took on Celtic eith both sides guaranteed to finish in their respective positions.
Both teams had chances to score with Celtic trying their luck first through Abbi Grant which went straight at Lauren Dawson whilst at the other end Kiera Gibson had to be alert to deny Hannah Stewart's effort from crossing the line.
Kerry Montgomery was next to test the Aberdeen rear guard after an Aberdeen set piece was not cleared and Montgomery's goal bound effort had to be cleared off the line by Loren Campbell.
Many would have thought Celtic would come to the Granite City and breeze through this tie however the Dons had other ideas with Cheryl Anderson forcing a good save from Gibson.
Celtic were quick out of the traps in the second half and got themselves a free kick early in the game which was taken by Georgie Rafferty however Lauren Dawson dealt with the thunderbolt from the Hoops defender.
The Hoops opened the scoring after a cross came in which was bundled home past the Aberdeen defence by Cara McBrearty.
Aberdeen worked hard to get an equaliser and Celtic had Gibson to thank after Shannon McGregor tried her luck from the edge of the box which she turned over for a Dons corner.
Then a great through ball from Chloe Fitzpatrick found Nikki Smith in a 1v1 situation with Gibson however the forwards lob went over.
The next goal was going to be vital and it was the visitors who got it after Suzanne Mulvey got free and slotted the ball past Dawson.
Celtic then put the game to bed after another great ball found substitute Kirsty Howat who sealed the three points by slotting the ball home.
A deserved win for Celtic however Aberdeen are showing drastic improvements and both sides will now look forward to the winter break. Even though it was not the send off that Susan Murray would have liked after 13 years at the Dons, she can still be proud of her achievements and best wishes for the future.
