In order for hydroelectric power to prevail, efficiency measures must be implemented, like campaigns for consumption reduction and the reduction of spillage at hydro stations. (Simbeye, F. W., 2013)
As Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world, they struggle to feed their people. Solutions to their food insecurities are controversial, like the use of GMOs, but if they want to see a change in their food insecurities and general prosperity as a country, they will have to find ways to cope with water shortages, change their mindset on genetically modified crops, and adapt in order to survive and thrive.
