Los ojos
de la noche
(The eyes of
the night)
Milongas, tangos, and murgas
are intimately interwoven
in ‘Los ojos de la noche’,
where deeply romantic
melodies are carefully
played in counterpoint.
Instruments from different
origins and latitudes create
such a dialogue that sets the
enveloping atmosphere of
the “port’s music” as the fado, the habanera or the Italian songs, but
with a synthesis made in Buenos Aires. The songs, are all united by
a conceptual line and seem to respond to a cinematographic plot just
like instrumental etchings. ‘Los ojos de la noche’ brings sounds of an
atemporal city, where what is familiar manifests itself in a completely
different order. Always keeping, even among its distant memories, a
taste of a joyful mood.
