We are dedicated to helping Native Youth throughout Los Angeles.
DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE TAMIT students visited the University of Redlands for an event at their campus and a great college experience.
WINTER 2013
(TABLET RELAUNCH) Students were invited to the Microsoft store to have more in-depth training on their Microsoft tablet and the Microsoft Office suite. They were trained on how to use Office, Powerpoint and Excel.
(ON-LINE TUTORING & MENTORING) The TAMIT Program was happy to announce the launch of its on-line tutoring, including help for the SAT, ACT and CAHSEE tests. We are also hard at work lining up college and professional mentors for the students to interact with throughout the year.
(QUECHAN) Early November, TAMIT students were invited back to Quechan for their annual youth exchange and wetland preservation. For several days, they camped at the wetlands, participated in a sweat, partook in a traditional dawn greeting, storytelling, and worked alongside Quechan students, elders and college mentors from the University of Redlands.
(SENIOR ACADEMY) Starting with a meeting with college mentors from UCLA and CSUN in mid-November and stretching into individual meetings throughout November and December, the TAMIT staff has been working hard with the graduating students to ensure their applications are out on time and have connections to the various departments at different colleges that might let them in. The work isn’t over, seniors still need to complete applications for financial aid, EOP, and scholarships.

(continued from page 1) I’ve been working hard the past few years to get to Chico State. I will be majoring in Business Administration with an option in Entrepreneurship. I decided to do this because I have been seen to have leadership qualities and see myself as a creator… I have taken my life day by day and TAMIT has helped me lot as well as my mother. TAMIT helped me pay for test fees and my college applications. I am very thankful for everyone that has helped me with my accomplishments and I look forward to giving back to everyone that has helped me. Thank you.
