which was the polar opposite

position to when I brought the first k

it home. The nappies were so easy

to use, and whilst some brands fit

better than others the variety

within the nappy kit allowed us to

work out which were best for our

little girl.

Our collection has grown....as has

the addiction to all the pretty

designs! Cloth nappies are

undoubtedly cheaper... however

the desire to buy new designs can

lead to what is called "Nappy

addiction". This is a recognised

condition, just ask nappy librarian

Naomi! In all seriousness, cloth

nappies are not difficult or smelly

or bulky, which goes against all

my preconceived ideas of using reusable nappies. One of my big worries with using cloth was the washing! However its much easier than I thought, and whilst the science behind the cleaning of nappies is phenomenal the task is not! I have learnt that the sun is a better bleaching agent than any vanish you can buy!

As first time parents its sometimes hard to go against the mainstream, but give it a go....see for yourself! We have found that we have much more room in the bin which is useful given the council have reduced the frequency of collections....no more tip runs with stinky nappies for daddy! I have just realised why he quickly changed his view on cloth! Hiring a kit from the library will cost you less than two weeks worth of disposable nappies....plus you get all the information you need! What have you got to lose? Get your cute cloth bum on!
