#ReadyForSummer
Mary Claire R. Bautista
SUMMER is the time when
new memories are created,
the time to complete bucket
lists and experience various
summer getaways.
To some people,
summer vacation is an escape
from their sleepless and tiring
nights, while for some, it is
just a normal day like usual.
However, not spending the
vacation outside and not
wanting to spend it are two
different things. Some people
stay indoors but it doesn’t
necessarily mean that they do
not want to go on a vacation,
there are actually a lot of
factors that are hindering
people to do so, and one of it
is the issue with money, not
all people have spare cash to
spend, and even if they do,
some would rather save it for
more important things in the
future, and for that reason,
people would just stay indoors
and spend it in their own
homes. But that is one of the
misconception that people
believed in, travelling doesn’t
necessarily mean that you
have to max out your credit
cards, or spend a lot of money
just to have an “unforgettable”
trip, as a matter of fact, there
are thousands of places in the
Philippines that you could
visit on a budget or even with
zero budget, all you need is a
few research and you’ll have
the same kind of wonderful
experience with the expensive
ones. But who has time to do
some research right? Don’t
worry, we got your back.
Listed below are some
summer destination spots
that you could visit without
sacrificing your wallets:
1. Angel’s Sunflower Field in
Candelaria Quezon
No
other
flower
can symbolize summer like
a sunflower. It has a bright
yellow petal that symbolizes
the sun and a warm and
cheerful color that mirrors
the innocence of a child. It
is no doubt that sunflower is
one of the crowd’s favorite,
and people’s obsession with
this wonderful blossom led
different sunflower garden
to open their business to the
public.
Angel’s
Sunflower
Field is one of the most
notable sunflower garden in
the Philippines, it could be
found in Candelaria Quezon
and a visit to this lovely haven
would only cost 30 pesos per
person, a very cheap price for
a short trip to paradise. Surely,
once you gave it a go, the sight
that would bestow upon you
is truly remarkable and don’t
worry, It is a guarantee that
you would not be leaving this
place without an #Instagram
worthy photo.
2. San Sebastian Chatedral in
Lipa City Batangas.
One of the place that
a Roman Catholic dreams
to visit is Rome, Italy, the
country where the Catholic
religion originated. However,
visiting
another
country
requires a lot of money and
effort, but did you know that
you could experience the feel
of Rome Italy without actually
going there? How you ask?
Try visiting the city of Lipa.
Lipa is known as
“The Little Rome of the
Philippines” several churches
and religious groups could
be found there, in fact 99.5%
of the city population are
Roman Catholic, there are
also 49 parishes and 23
existing catholic schools, two
high school seminaries, three
college seminaries, and two
pastoral centers. There are a
lot more structures in Lipa that
could mirror the Catholicism
of Lipeños, but the most
remarkable is said to be the
San Sebastian Cathedral,
which could be found in CM
Recto Ave., Poblacion, Lipa
City, Batangas.
The moment you
step foot in San Sebastian
cathedral, the remarkable
ancient architectural structure
would immediately give
annual celebration in the
television.
He mentioned that
this year’s theme is an
appropriate description
of all the sacrifices for
the love of country, an
act of true service which
they have shown and will
continually be celebrated,
“akmang
akma
po
sapagkat sa lahat po ng
sakripisyo, pagmamahal
at
kagitingan,
isang
tunay na serbisyo po ang
inyong naipamalas at
ipinamamalas.”
Bae even asked for
a warm applause from the
audience in honor of all
the war veterans present
and for those who died
during the war.
The
program
always
include
the
“Tolling of the Bell” by
a veteran and a student
representative
with
this year’s participants,
Veteran Domingo R. Marasigan, Post President
of the Rodriguez Veterans
Post, 2nd Rizal Veterans
District and Mr. Keith
Clarence O. Arca, a
student from Florentino
Joya Elementary School.
This annual event
is traditionally observed
here in this historic island
to honor all Filipino
heroes, patriots, martyrs
and defenders from the
time of Lapu-Lapu to the
Philippine
Revolution
against
the
Spanish
conquerors,
Filipino-
American War and World
War II.
The program was
attended by veterans,
and
other
guests
from the national and
local government, the
Philippine naval and
armed
forces,
and
representatives from the
youth sectors.
(Ruel
Francisco, PIA-Cavite)
you the feeling that you are
in a different country,the
aesthetically
pleasing
paintings would welcome you
by clenching your heart and
filling your soul with calmness
and satisfaction. The holyness
surrounding the place is also
notable, the artistic structures
at the walls and ceilings are
majestically beautiful, as for
the entrance fee? It’s 100%
free that comes with a priceless
experience.
3. Calinisan Beach Resort
The Philippines have
over 7,000 islands and has
the most amazing beaches in
the world. In recent years, the
tropical paradise has been the
number one choice by foreign
travellers and locals as well.
However, going to the beach
is extremely expensive, the
cottage, the entrance fee, and
other expenses would cost
thousands of money, but then
again, summer is not complete
without swimming right?
Calinisan
Beach
Resort is undoubtedly one
of the most beautiful and
cheap resorts out there, it is
located in Buso-buso, 4221
Laurel Batangas, and a visit
to this resort could guarantee
a relaxing yet fun vacation.
The moment you get in; you
will immediately feel a strong
connection with nature. The
whole resort is undoubtedly
breathtaking, the simple yet
extraordinary design, the
friendly and accomodating
staffs and most of all, the sight
of Taal volcano which adds up
to the scenic view. The isolated
location is also considered to
give you a peace of mind and
stress free experience.

this resort is 150 pesos per
head, for daytime reservation
and 200 pesos for night
reservation. If you are looking
for a place to renew your
energy and find some peace, then Calinisan Beach Resort is
the perfect place for you.
4. Mt. Maculot
Is there a better way to satisfy
our crave for adventure other
than Hiking? Answer, None.
Hiking is always
a breathtaking experience,
whether you are a newbie, or
a veteran in hiking, it would
not be a problem because the
Philippines has a lot of popular
mountains that could serve
you to satisfy your sense of
Adventure.
One of the most
popular
mountains
for
beginners and experienced
hikers is the Mt. Maculot.
This mountain could be found
in Cuenca, Batangas. It is so
popular that on weekends and
summer months, there are
sari-sari stores at the campsite.
Some
people
withdraw
from going to this mountain
because of one challenging
section called “rockies” which
requires actual mountain
climbing, but it will all be
worth it. Once you reached
the top of the mountain,
you will be rewarded with a
picturesque view of the Taal
Lake and surrounding forests.
You will only have to pay 10
pesos for this one-of-a-kind
experience, and if you are up
for the adventure, then do not
hesitate to try it.
These are only some of
the destinations that you could
visit without spending a lot of
money. You could travel with
your family or alone if you
want to, but the most important
thing is that you revive your
summer spirit and have the
most fun experience ever.
Summer
means
vacation, and vacation means
fun, through this article,
we hope that we could help
you in achieving the best
#summerexperience
ever!
