“This is an area you don’t want to abandon, because you have many great neighborhoods that are very well established surrounding it,” Kavanaugh said. “You want to provide support for them to shop, to work, to eat, to entertain.”
While the area looks better already, the district’s comeback has a long way to go. Chain-link fences surrounding abandoned businesses abound.
Kavanaugh said he looks forward to the Fiesta District’s new vision, as well as its eventual impact on the city as a whole.
