Getting
Fresh
with Boxx
Local Puerto Rican stylist Porsh Boxx is more than a barber he's an artist. Local Radio personality Young Holliday stopped by The Finest barber shop to see exactly what the buzz was all about. As talented as Porsh is you may think his journey to the lime light was a little easier. It was quite the contrary. It was often times "I went to bed at night wondering if we would move tomorrow" said Porsh Boxx real name Maceo Jackson II. Porsh was born in Roanoke Virginia to mother Wendy Correa- Johnson and father Maceo Jackson who met at William Fleming a prestigious high school in Roanoke, VA. Wendy later moved her and Porsh then age 3 to Brooklyn New York to be with his father who left Roanoke to pursue a business career. The Family lived there till Porsh was 12. During that time Porsh had gotten known in the neighborhood for his MC skills and his drawing abilities. Unfortunately Wendy decided she had enough of New York and moved the family back down south to Greensboro North Carolina. Although this time Porsh wasn't alone he had a little brother with him Mario Jackson who Ironically was the first person to put a pair of clippers in Porsh's hands. While in North Carolina the two brothers sharpened their skills practicing on each other week after week. Our stay in North Carolina was great but just like our stay in New York "it was everything but permanent" said Porsh, so they moved again. Back to Roanoke Virginia where after many set backs we fast forward to 2012 and Porsh is back on the right track doing what he loves most. That's making people look good and producing good music under his own indie label Correa Entertainment. You can get fresh with Boxx at The Finest Barber shop at 2609 Peters Creek rd Roanoke Virginia or on Facebook.com/PorshBoxx.
