" I grew up in Massachusetts . My maternal grandparents lived in South Flroida . During the summer , they drove from their home in Fort Lauderdale to spend the summer with us in Massachusetts . They stayed at our house , drove us to swim practice and the library , and watched us during the day while our parents worked . We had to be quiet at 9:00 am every morning so my grandmother could watch Regis and Kathie Lee and again 1:00 pm every weekday so my grandmother could watch her soap opera , All My Children . My grandfather always got up before dawn so he needed an afternoon nap that he would take while he was reading his book on the couch . I loved having them at our house ."
