Just as shoppers were getting used to malls
sizing down their online experiences to fit mobile
devices, Brazil’s Rio Design Barra decided to
go big. Last fall, the mall turned its digital touchscreen totems into giant iPads and iPhones to
promote its new mobile app, which Bitix created.
Supported by colorful campaign signage, the
boards not only educated shoppers on the free
app’s unique features in a modern and playful
manner—these included the ability to view movie
trailers, purchase tickets, pay for parking and
note mall favorites—but it also aimed to give
users the urge to click through to iTunes and
download the app.
The campaign wrapped up in December at
the height of the holiday season.
