Athletic Complex taking shape

The northern portion of campus is undergoing a facelift with two related projects that will dramatically increase the student and visitor experience.

Crews broke ground on Thornton’ s new field house last fall. The 48,851-square foot building arrived in pieces – requiring more than 50 tractor trailer deliveries – and assembled on site.

The 243-foot by 156-foot facility will host athletic events, ranging from basketball to volleyball, school assemblies, commencement, and much more.

In addition, the new fitness room, located next to the Dr. Paul S. Hill Jr. Stadium, will be one of the premier facilities in the state. The 3,800 square-foot fitness room offers strength and cardio equipment that will be used by wellness classes and athletic teams.
