FITNESS CENTER OPENS. FIELD HOUSE IS NEXT!
Remember the old TA weight room next to the gym stage— cramped, stuffy, and outfitted with just a Universal machine and a few dumbbells?
That space is now a thing of the past, replaced by a bright, spacious Fitness Center featuring squat racks, a full set of dumbbells, cardio machines, and top-tier equipment for all kinds of training.

The TA boys’ lacrosse team brought home the state title in June with an exciting 8-6 upset win over Falmouth, a team many had called the best in Maine lacrosse history.
Junior goalie Colin Pennell made 19 saves, leading a Trojan defense that held the high-scoring Navigators in check. Classmate Ben White tallied two goals and two assists and senior Jack DeLeo added a pair of goals.
Fitness Center opened over the summer for our athletic teams and is now available to all students and staff. If you’ ve driven past the TA campus recently, you’ ve likely noticed the impressive field house rising next to the tennis courts and baseball field, just behind the Edith Scamman Science Building. This 48,000-squarefoot facility, set to open in the spring will be home to basketball, volleyball, special events, and more. The secondfloor mezzanine includes

Junior Grady Hersey did an excellent job at the faceoff position matching up against a Falmouth All American, preventing him from dominating the initial possessions.
The victory ended the Navigators 28-game winning streak and gave Thornton our third Class A lacrosse championship, joining the 2018 and 2019 teams, which also beat Falmouth in the title games.

With seating for over 1,200, the completed field house will also provide a central venue for school-wide assemblies and weather-proof graduation ceremonies.
Both the Fitness Center and Field House were made possible through the generosity of our donors and careful financial planning, with no taxpayer dollars used.
