KAREN MASTERS Kenya’s Finest GREG SNOW CLUB: MUTHAIGA TOURNAMENT SCORE: -11 This was one of the best outings for Greg in a high profile tournament. After a good start, Greg had a bad second round shooting two over par. He was then to recover with an excellent round of 66 on day three before wrapping up with a calculated -2 on the final day. The result earned him an automatic invitation to play in the Swaziland round of the Sunshine Tour. DAVID WAKHU CLUB: GOLF PARK TOURNAMENT SCORE: -6 It was a great experience. I really enjoyed playing alongside the best players on the Sunshine Tour. This is the exposure we have been craving 10 for. My game plan worked almost to perfection more so the shot game. I felt more comfortable on the greens than off the tee. At Karen if you drive well, you will definitely record good scores. And the weather was very friendly. Unlike during the Kenya Open, there was no much wind thus it was easier to control the ball flight. Interestingly, coming to this tournament there was this aura of confidence all around me. In the past international events, I have always set my targets quite low; making the cut. But this time round I had the greater goal of going for it. I guess the heightened confidence is as a result of having played in the Kenya Open only three months ago and the series of qualifier events we had in the run up to KCB Karen Masters. I can confidently say that I have had a total transformation- I am completely out of the comfort zone! We Kenyan pros need to become more aggressive and work on our mindset. I was also very happy to see more Kenyans make the cut. If we continue to have many tournaments to keep the local pros busy, I am confident that we shall win the Karen Masters very soon. I am now a more confident and courageous player. I am looking forward to an opportunity to play against the continent’s top players in more events.
