I am sure grown-ups all around you always says you should be more assertive, but do they ever tell you what exactly is being assertive? What´s the difference between being aggressive and assertive? Most people never answer this questions and when they do the answer isn´t clear or even completely off topic. Being assertive is not being aggressive or passive , in my opinion, it´s a delicate balance between the two that is easy to break without self-control, but once achieved it can improve your social skills, your performance in most activities and can even get you a girlfriend/boyfriend (that wasn´t a joke, it was proven possible by one of my junior high friend). Know I will explain what being assertive is all about. First and foremost is communication, be sure to listen to what others say and express your own ideas, not just shut up and accept everything the other party tells you without complain and definitely not pushing your ideas and beliefs into others without giving them the chance to respond.
