Bylaws ARTICLE I. Definitions “Active” refers to a Member who is participating in Chapter activities, sponsoring AgeGroup Activities, and supporting the Foundation. Active members are required to attend one National convention OR one Regional conference (“Mothers’ Conference”) OR one Regional area workday OR cluster within each four year period for the duration of their membership tenure. “Age-Group Activity(ies)” refers to the event that each Member must organize/host for each of their Children’s age groups. The activity must be age-appropriate for the specific group that the Member is hosting at the time. “Associate” or “The Associates Group” refers to members who maintain membership in the Organization pursuant to Article III, Section 2(B) hereof. “Chapter” or “SWSD” refers to the Southwest Suburban Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. “Chapter Dues” refer to any annual monies paid to the Chapter, pursuant to the Chapter budget, in addition to any National and Regional per capita tax assessments. “Chapter-Sponsored Event(s)” refers to events that the Chapter organizes/hosts in which all Chapter Members may participate. “Child(ren)” refers to child(ren) for which a Member serves as a mother, legal guardian, custodial caretaker, or long-term continuous care provider. “Executive Committee” refers to the elected and appointed officers of the Chapter, and the immediate-past Chapter President. This committee is chaired by the Chapter President. “Financial” refers to a Member who is current on all Chapter, Regional and National dues, assessments, penalties and fees within the current Fiscal Year. “Fiscal Year” refers the period from June 1st to May 31st. “Foundation” refers to Jack and Jill of America Foundation, Inc. “Jack and Jill”, “National Organization”, “Organization”, or “Corporation” refers to Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated “Member(s)” refers to any woman who maintains an Active, Associate, Honorary Life, or Life membership in the Organization pursuant to Article III, Section 2 hereof. 57 57
