Capitalized terms not defined herein shall have the meanings set forth in the Chapter
Bylaws.
I.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to establish a standard format for conducting the
election of officers in the Chapter. The election of officers is one of the most important
duties of the Chapter because effective work depends in large measure on good
leadership. Officers should be chosen for their abilities and their willingness to serve the
interests of the Chapter.
II.

COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

The Nominating Committee (the “Committee) is one of the most important committees
in the Chapter. It is essential that Committee Members be elected with careful
consideration and in accordance with the Chapter Bylaws.
Immediately before the Committee is elected, bylaws sections pertaining to the Nominating
Committee should be read. The Chapter Bylaws provide as follows:
The Nominating Committee is responsible for managing the biennial
nomination and election of Chapter officers. The Nominating Committee
shall be composed of five (5) Members, one from each age group
(Chapter Bylaws: Article III, Section 1(C)(2)), as elected by a majority of
the Members in Good Standing at the November Mothers’ Meeting. The
Chapter’s election process shall be governed by the National Nominating,
Campaigning and Election Procedures in conjunction with any Chapter
procedures that are not in conflict therewith, Pursuant thereto, the
Nominating Committee shall propose nominating procedures which shall
be disseminated to the Membership at the January Mothers’ Meeting. The
