Aztecs Exhibition reveals an extaordinary culture
After exploring the fascinating Aztec Exhibition at Melbourne Museum Harry, Liliana (above with tlachtli ball), Miani and Rupert were bursting with questions for historian Prof Barry Carr. For most of the last four decades, Prof Carr worked at La Trobe
University where he taught Latin American haistory (including courses on the Aztecs,
Maya and Incas!) and he founded and directed La Trobe’s Institute of Latin American
Studies until early 2008. Since the summer of 2007 he has taught as a visiting professor in Mexico, Berkeley (California) and in New York City. Prof Carr is currently Senior
Fellow at the Institute of Latin American Studies at La Trobe University and Adjunct
Professor at ANU and Swinburne University of Technology… so when it comes to
Aztec history, he certainly knows a thing… or ten!
