n! io ct A Been a film fan all your life? Ever wanted to be in the movies? Or even make a movie? Well, there’s no better time than now. Everyone knows that kids have the BEST imagination! Writing Your Story So every movie starts with an idea, which is turned into a script. Most successful films follow a 3-act structure, which means the script is divided into three main parts: the beginning, the middle and the end. ACTION! takes a look at The Three Stages of Film making with Far Out Films In the beginning, all the characters and Filmmaking is divided into three stages: pre-production, production and post-production. In pre-production, the script is finalised, crew is hired, actors are cast and all the planning and preparation work takes place. In production, the cast and crew are shooting the film. In post-production, everything is given to editors whose job it is to edit the footage, engineer the audio, add music and maybe even special effects. Finally, the credits will be added so that everyone’s contribution to making the film is recognised. their problems are set up. In the middle, all the action to resolve the problem takes place (but often makes it worse) before, at the end, the film’s hero overcomes the problem that was established in the beginning. If you want to write a script audiences love, try using this structure. It will make your story tighter and improve your writing skills. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLuicrSVt5g&list=PL60FrRwaUWPEAF-G8M-Mhs6-1r5hXVqXs FAR OUT FILMS: Far Out Films is a group of award winning filmmakers, based in Melbourne, Australia. Our objective is to provide kids with a film set experience through providing them with a platform they can use to create films that are suitable for child audiences. Kids are usually aged between 10-13 years, although from time to time we look outside of this age group when a specific project requires it. Since we began in late 2011, more than 300 kids have participated on a film set with us. SwitchOn 59
