Vision 2020 for Creating Sustainable Societies Inviting young leaders to become innovators of positive change Bringing together dynamic mentors in sustainability for a one day event for student leaders and change-makers 12-21 years and PD afternoon for teachers, youth workers and sustainability managers What is Vision2020? ‘Vision2020 for Creating Sustainable Societies’ is a joint initiative between The School Broadcasting Network Inc and KIOSC Discovery Centre at Swinburne University. Vision 2020 sets the benchmark in education and participation for current social, economic and environmental issues affecting our world today. Inspiring world leading specialists and visionaries share their insights for engaging young hearts and minds to be inno vators for positive change and contributors to global strategies for creating an equitable and sustainable future. Aim Vision 2020’s focus is to create an equitable and sustainable future through fostering a deeper understanding of the issues facing our global societies and the implementation of actionable solutions that will contribute to creating sustainable societies by the critical year of 2020. Vision 2020 will be held annually, up until the year 2020. Vision 2020 provides a unique opportunity to address issues and raise awareness by encouraging practical outcomes for young people to create within their local communities – from primary to tertiary levels and beyond. We invite young leaders from across Victoria to participate in this unique hands on event. Delegates can choose to attend 3 break-out workshops throughout the day from a broad range of sustainability topics that include: Innovative Technology Renewable Energy Food Futures Conscious Consumerism Social Change and many more! Delegates are also invited to present their own initiatives and projects for positive change as benchmarks to inspire others.
