Tips For Improvement The basic jumpshot Wrist The dominant hand which is recognized as the power of the jumpshot must always end up in a curled wrist. When you bend your knees and jump, the power from your legs must ?ow to your arms. When the power has gone to your hands,you have to ?ick your wrist, this will rotate the ball toward yourself. The importance of ?icking your wrist is crucial because it helps increasethe chance of making a jumpshot; the ball rotates and will hit the backboard or the back of the rim eventually ending up in a score.
