he Friends of Mount Auburn are thrilled to announce
T that an anonymous donor has approved a 1:1 matching grant totaling $ 435,000 for two meaningful projects at the Cemetery : $ 260,000 supporting the preservation of the Scots ’ Charitable Society Fence and $ 175,000 supporting the construction of two pedestrian entrances along Grove Street .
In January of this year , we kicked off a fundraising campaign for the Scots ’ Charitable Society Fence , and we are so grateful for the initial support of our donors , which allowed us to garner the momentum to make such a grant possible . We hope you will consider supporting the final stretch of this project and our exciting new pedestrian entrances along Grove Street , the gates of which will follow the leaf theme of the Mount Auburn Street gates opened in May 2024 . We are already well on our way to matching these grants due to generous gifts from our loyal donors — help us keep up the excitement and see these projects become a reality .
