NEW MEMBERS JOIN MOUNT AUBURN BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND COMMITTEES

ount Auburn Cemetery was fortunate this fall to have welcomed four very talented and enthusiastic new

M members to its Board of Trustees and Board Committees .

Rebecca Gardner Campbell comes to the Board with extensive experience in non-profit governance and historic preservation . Now retired , her professional background is in Fine Arts . She is a member of the Board of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and a former board member with The Trustees of Reservations . Becca looks forward to her work as a Trustee and to being active with the Preservation , Facilities & Infrastructure Committee .
Sarah Bennett Baker is a communications and non-profit fundraising professional whose non-profit governance experience includes work for over a decade in the San Francisco area supporting small non-profits and educational institutions serving low-income students . She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Shady Hill School in Cambridge . Sarah joins Mount Auburn as an Advisory Member of the Education & Programs Committee .
Bina Thompson brings a wealth of professional financial experience to the Cemetery Services Committee as an Advisory Member . Now retired , Bina ’ s deep background in administration and investor relations are a welcome fit with the Committee ’ s core business agenda . She is a member of the WGBH Board of Advisors and a Trustee with the American Repertory Theater ( A . R . T .), as well as a former member of the Babson College Board of Trustees and the New York Stock Exchange Advisory Board . Candace Young is a seasoned business executive and the founder and owner of From The Ground Up , a landscape and garden design firm serving residential clients in the suburbs west of Boston . She spent 20 years in finance and other commercial endeavors in various public and private companies supporting both U . S . and international operations . Candace has also served on the boards of Grow Native Massachusetts and The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care . She will be sharing her talents as an Advisory Member with the Horticulture & Landscape Committee .
We thank each of these accomplished individuals for their willingness to be part of Mount Auburn governance and look forward to working together on behalf of the Cemetery to promote beauty , service , and welcome .
