Remembering the Boston Tea Party

n April 16th three Boston Tea Party participants buried

O at Mount Auburn were honored in a ceremony with representatives from the Boston Tea Party Museum ,

Revolution 250 , and Daughters of the American Revolution as part of the 250th Boston Tea Party anniversary year .

Steve Owens and Cemetery President and CEO Matthew Stephens ( pictured left , l to r ) planted a Yoshino Cherry tree . The afternoon festivities included a visit from Watertown Bookmobile parked in Asa Gray Garden which offered visitors the chance to browse books about trees as well as about some about individuals buried at the Cemetery . It was a beautiful spring day and kicked off a weekend of activities and tours of our historic landscape — already a home to 6,000 trees !
