TRUSTEE UPDATES

Trustee Laura Nash Retires

Mount Auburn Trustee and Cemetery Services Committee Chair Laura Nash stepped down from the Board following the December quarterly meeting . Ms . Nash had served on the Mount Auburn Cemetery Board for eight years giving generously of her time and expertise and in addition to her tenure as CSC Chair had also been a member of the following standing and ad hoc committees : Finance ; Horticulture & Landscape ; Investment ; Preservation , Facilities & Infrastructure ; Vision Planning ; IDEA ; Sustainability ; Presidential Search ; and Bigelow Chapel Extension . Laura , a Cambridge resident and Garden Club of America member , will continue her support for Mount Auburn as an Advisory Member of the Vision Planning Task Force .

Welcome New Trustee : John E . Corcoran

The Mount Auburn Cemetery Board of Trustees welcomed John E . Corcoran to serve as Trustee effective January 1 , 2023 , to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of former Trustee Laura Nash . Mr . Corcoran , a resident of Essex , MA , is the founder and CEO of Trinity Life Sciences in Waltham . Mr . Corcoran is originally from the Watertown area and has family interred at Mount Auburn . He is also affiliated with the New England Historical Genealogical Society , where he serves as Treasurer , and with the Brotherhood of Hope ; the Catholic Leadership Institute ; the Concussion Legacy Foundation ( Chair ); The Fellowship of Catholic University Students ( FOCUS ); iCatholic Media ( Chair ); Lumen Verum Academy ( Chair ); the Magnificat Foundation ; Pope Saint John XXIII National Seminary ; and Saint John ’ s Seminary . Mr . Corcoran ’ s initial Mount Auburn Cemetery committee assignments will be with the Cemetery Services and the Governance & Nominating Committees .
