MOUNT AUBURN WELCOMES : BETH BROWN AND RONNIT BENDAVID-VAL

N Beth Brown ( right ) has a fundraising career spanning two decades with non-profit organizations throughout

Boston and comes to Mount Auburn with a life-long interest in cemeteries . Most recently she was the Assistant Vice President for Advancement at American Ancestors / New England Historic Genealogical Society . Outside of work , when she is not spending time with her husband and two children , Beth enjoys gardening , needlepoint , cooking and tennis .
“ My life-long interest in cemeteries began at an early age and as a student , my fascination grew to studying medieval art and architecture . As I have settled into my new role at Mount Auburn , it has been a pleasure to start getting to know this incredible organization .”
New Vice President of Horticulture & Landscape Ronnit Bendavid-Val ( left ) comes with decades of experience managing large landscapes in both the public and the nonprofit sectors , running horticulture operations in NYC Parks , the High Line and most recently Brooklyn Botanic Garden . She has also worked closely with events , design and construction , sustainable initiatives , and many other aspects of public gardens .

As a professional horticulture person , I am really thrilled at the opportunity to work in a landscape which is not only the first of its kind in terms of a garden cemetery — but also the inspiration for urban parks across the country .”
