This   temple   is   one   of   the   4   Char   Dham   sites.   Dedicated   to   Lord   Vishnu,   this   temple   is   located   in  
Badrinath,   Uttarakhand.   This   was   a   buddhist   shrine   till   Adi   Sankaracharya   transformed   it   into   a  
Hindu   temple   in   8th   Century   A.D.   The   presiding   deity’s   image   is   a   statue   of   Vishnu   made   of   black  
stone.
