A Spark Rekindled

Nestled in the mountains of Blanchard, Idaho, Stoneridge Resort and the StoneRidge Golf Community are known for their scenic beauty and recreation— and for hosting one of North Idaho’ s most cherished Fourth of July celebrations.
What began more than four decades ago faded into nearly twenty years of silence before a determined group of volunteers rekindled the spark, building an annual tradition that now draws residents, resort guests, and visitors from across the Northwest.

The celebration’ s roots reach back to the early 1980s, when the ��������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� company-owned property. After the Stoneridge Recreation Center Community Club Association( SRCCOA) assumed responsibility for community operations in 1983, the Stoneridge Recreation Center carried the tradition forward, drawing on SRCCOA funding to keep the holiday display alive.
To stock each show, the Recreation Center manager traveled to the nearby reservation to purchase aerial ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� concerns during the late 1980s eventually led Stoneridge Resort to discontinue the display, and for nearly two ������������������������������������������������������������������������������

The modern era began in 2007, when a handful of residents in the newly established Motorcoach Village ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� �������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������
Though security warned them the display was unauthorized, the pair couldn’ t resist ending the evening with �����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������

With each passing year, the display grew larger and better organized. A dedicated volunteer crew learned through hands-on experience, overcoming the occasional upside-down mortar or wayward rocket while maintaining an excellent safety record. Community enthusiasm kept pace— donations poured in, generous ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������
���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� safety support, while Stoneridge Golf and Resort management became valued annual sponsors.
