Unlawful sub letting
Unlawful sub letting is when a tenant moves out
and sub lets the whole of our property to another
person or family. The tenant usually makes a
profit by charging rents equivalent to the private
sector.
Tenants who sub let their home are breaching
their tenancy conditions and committing a crime.
They’re also stopping people with genuine
housing need from getting a home.
We’re tackling unlawful sub letting:
Over 20 properties have been recovered
and AmicusHorizon has been awarded over
£20,000
A tenant was convicted, fined £1,100, ordered
to pay £500 costs and is being evicted.
If you suspect an AmicusHorizon tenant is
unlawfully sub letting our home please contact
us. You can report unlawful sub letting to us by
emailing [email protected] or
call 0800 121 60 60.
Residents in Sussex missed 153 repair
appointments in November 2015. This means
contractors are spending unnecessary time
travelling to appointments when no one is at
home.
If you know you’ll be out and are unable to let
contractors into your home to complete repairs or
gas services, please let us know.
To rearrange your appointment to a more
convenient time please contact us on
