Germany, Italy and France topped Jean Luc’s bucket list; Hungary, Montenegro or Portugal were high on mine. But with only three weeks and no desire for a whirlwind trip that would leave us more exhausted than relaxed, we began exploring “slow travel” options that would suit us both. At the end of an exhaustive Google search, a river cruise seemed to tick all the boxes.
