The 4,000-square- foot skatepark at Webb Community Park in southeast Arlington officially opened to the public on Dec. 10, 2019. The skatepark, which is the first for south Arlington and the fourth public skatepark for the city overall, is open from 5 a.m. to midnight daily at 1100 Mansfield Webb Rd. and offers features such as a flat ledge and roof top rail for skaters. The Aging Well Expo is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center, 1200 Ballpark Way. This free event, a coordinated effort of the City of Arlington, Tarrant County and many community sponsors, is expected to feature more than 125 vendors, fitness demonstrations, health screenings, housing resources, information on volunteering in the community, educational presentations, door prizes and more. The expo will also offer participants a chance to receive screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure and blood glucose, as well as vision, hearing and fall risk evaluation. Free flu, pneumonia, whooping cough and tetanus shots along with other vaccinations will be available for those who qualify. This year’s presenting sponsor is Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital at Arlington. Register between now and Feb. 5, 2020, to be guaranteed a free lunch; otherwise registration is not required. Walk-in guests are welcome. Parking is free. Assistance will be available from the parking lot to the entrance.
