Lesson  8:  Completing  Your  Comic     Subject:  English   Year  Level:  4   Lesson  Duration:  1  Hour   General  Information:   This  lesson  will  require  access  to  desktop  computers,  laptops  or  iPads.  Depending  on   the  accessibility  of  technology  within  the  individual  school,  this  lesson  may  need  to   be  held  in  the  school’s  computer  lab.     Intended  Learning  Outcomes/Purpose:     • Plan,  draft  and  publish  imaginative,  informative  and  persuasive  texts   containing  key  information  and  supporting  details  for  a  widening  range  of   audiences,  demonstrating  increasing  control  over  text  structures  and   language  features  (ACARA)   • Identify  features  of  online  texts  that  enhance  readability  including  text,   navigation,  links,  graphics  and  layout  (ACARA)   • Use  a  range  of  software  including  word  processing  programs  to  construct,   edit  and  publish  written  text,  and  select,  edit  and  place  visual,  print  and  audio   elements  (ACARA)   • Work  with  others  to  plan  the  creation  and  communication  of  ideas  and   information  safely,  applying  agreed  ethical  and  social  protocols  (ACARA)   • Use  media  technologies  to  create  time  and  space  through  the  manipulation  of   images,  sounds  and  text  to  tell  stories  (ACARA)   • Plan,  create  and  present  media  artworks  for  specific  purposes  with   awareness  of  responsible  media  practice  (ACARA)     • Students have to finish their comic books during the lesson.       Prior  Learning  and  Experiences:   • Students  have  already  been  introduced  to  the  requirements  of  the  task   • Students  have  already  been  introduced  to  the  features  of  the  technology  used   • Students  have  already  begun  their  digital  comics.
