HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL Dear Valued Member, I want to take this time to wish you a Happy New Year and many blessings in 2020! I hope you enjoyed the holiday season with your loved ones and friends. I know many of you traveled home for the holidays and will be returning soon. We wish you safe travels as you return to Sebring. With the page turned to 2020, our golfing season is ramping into full swing quickly. The golf courses will soon be filling up and it will be very important to plan your golfing schedule out well in advance. Remember that as a member you can book reservations 21 days in advance. With the busy season here, pace of play will begin to slow down. Our expectation for a round of golf during season is 4:15 – 4:30 hours. We will be monitoring the courses with a ranger presence, but we ask for your patience as we handle the golfing demand that season brings. January brings another month of exciting member tournaments: January 14-15 January 15 January 18 January 22-23 WGA Member | Member 1pm Shotgun Starts LGA Handicap 8:15am Shotgun Start MGA Couples 1pm Shotgun Start MGA Member | Member 1pm | 8am Shotgun Starts In January, from the 16th thru the 19th, we will host the 3rd Annual Million Dollar Shootout benefiting South Florida State College Athletics. The top qualifiers will get a chance to win $1,000,000 dollars on Sunday the 19th. Make a hole-in-one that morning on our Island Green #18 and you will be a millionaire! January 1st also brings golfers around the world the World Handicap System. Please use the below link and the “Things to Know” document on the following page to educate yourself on all the changes. The GHIN system will be down January 1-5 to move to the new WHS platform. Any rounds played during that time will need to be played under the new WHS rules and posted on January 6th or later. https://fsga.org/sections/content/World-Handicap-System/1025 In closing, I wanted to give you a quick reminder that all membership dues are due by January 31st.
