Summons Winter 2019 | Page 7

We are just gearing up for our monthly meetings after taking a summer hiatus.

Our Christmas project this year was donating to the food banks in the Minot area. Apparently, the food banks are in dire need of food this year – more so than in past years. All of the reports you hear say the economy is doing much better, but we have more and more people needing assistance.

Now that we're past the holiday season, we will begin planning the spring seminar. We are always open to any ideas or suggestions you may have!!

Region III continues to have monthly luncheons at A& B Pizza South on the second Tuesday of the month. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

This year, we have continued working with Drug Court for our community outreach project. The participants have been appreciative for our help during the holiday season. WDALA members have been generous with both their time and money.

The Santa Run occurred on December 8th, 2018 at the Heritage Center/State Capitol Grounds. Nearly 500 Santas and elves attended the run, which raises money to benefit RADD, Hope Manor and Adult Drug Court. WDALA volunteered from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. working at the volunteer check-in station, same day registration table, coat/bag check, setting up and serving food, assisting with clean-up, and other miscellaneous tasks. It was a fantastic event! Special thank you to Candy Schafer and Laurie Guenther for their help in organizing this event.
