WDALA NALA Liaison
Since the last time I wrote an article for the Summons, we have been busy! This article is going to be a bit scattered so please, bear with me!
We held our fall seminar in September – electing our new officers and awarding the WDALA Scholarship; we have participated in/helped out with/worked the 2018 Santa Run; we have done lots of Christmas giving both in presents and goodies; and we’ve had members begin their quest for certification.
Everything our association does reflects on, not only us as an association, but also on NALA. As an association, we are small but mighty! The work we do in our own communities serves to assist others as well as put our name out there to people who might otherwise not be aware that we exist! We do what we do because it “feels” right to us. What you may not realize though is it also shines through that our standards are that of the highest order, as originally crafted by NALA. Well done everyone!!!
NALA LIAISON REPORT
2019 Conference: The 2019 NALA Conference will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, this coming July 11 - 13. Your President, Afton Basden, and I will be attending on behalf of WDALA along with NALA’s Vice President (soon to be President), Melissa Hamilton.
You don’t have to be a NALA member to attend the Conference and it is a fantastic learning experience! The Conference promises to, once again, be amazing! I will report back with more tidbits in my next article!
