OFFICER'S REPORTS

WDALA’s Spring Seminar was held on Thursday, April 21st at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Minot. It was very well attended - we had 28 registrants, six of which were non-members. I do not have the final hotel bill, but we anticipate the seminar to make a total profit of around $1,200. We received contributions from McGee, Hankla & Backes, P.C., North Dakota Guaranty & Title Co., Haugen Farm Realty, Inc., Howard & Associates, P.C. and Paladin Resources, Inc.

The Spring Seminar included the following speakers and topics: Kent Reierson, “Structuring a General Litigation Discovery Plan;” Honorable Mary Ellen Seaworth, “Indian Law in North Dakota;” Margie Zietz, “Self Protection/Workplace Safety;” and Ashley Flagstad, “Disorderly Conduct in North Dakota: The Constitutionally Protected Defense.”

Most speakers got high marks, with Margie Zietz’ dynamic presentation coming in as the clear favorite.

Planning for WDALA’s 2016 Fall Seminar is in the works and I understand the speakers are already all lined up. Woot Woot!! The seminar will be held at the Holiday Inn (North) in Bismarck on September 13 and 14, 2016.

Have a wonderful summer!!
