food pantry geared toward feeding the “food-insecure” persons in a four county area of Southern Nevada. They are an affiliate member of Feeding America based in Las Vegas. A challenge had been issued to each affiliate organization to donate $1 for each member to Three Square. The WDALA Board decided to rise to the challenge and donated based on WDALA’s membership.
Friday evening found us installing the new NALA officers and celebrating a successful conference with a closing reception.
In our time off (which wasn’t much!), we were free to explore Las Vegas, gamble, eat, and take in the sights. I don’t really know who did what but I know I was pretty worn out by the end of the day even though I did manage to get more steps in on my Fitbit than I had … EVER!!!
It wouldn’t be a conference, though, unless something happened at the hotel! Sure enough, the alarms went off twice in the hotel/casino during the course of the conference! Thankfully, neither was an actual emergency!
The NALA Conference is an amazing, exciting, inspiring event to attend. Everyone is welcome to attend, NALA member or not, CLA or not, and I would highly encourage you to do so if the opportunity arises! You are given not only the highest quality of educational learning but an affirmation of what it means to be a paralegal and just how important you really are! You meet people from across the country and form lasting friendships. You get the opportunity to pick up ideas and inspiration from other members. And you get a chance to expand your horizons to see what happens in the legal world in other parts of the country.
I want to offer my sincere thanks to each and every member of WDALA for allowing me to attend this year’s conference and am looking forward to representing WDALA at the 2017 conference in Orlando!
