I feel like Math Olympiad events and other math competitions are all very important events for students ’ mathematical development , as students are competing in full focus , and also learning while making errors . Finally , I would like to congratulate fellow SLAS student Henry Kim for winning the best individual award and getting the golden ticket to the WMC final in the University of Melbourne in Australia during the upcoming Christmas . The next competitive math event we will have are the WMC qualifiers in October , with venues such as Bangkok , Thailand and Seoul , South Korea .
The students other than Henry Kim will still have the chance to win the golden ticket in that event . I feel like SLAS , bring a relatively smaller school , is supposed to be seen as less competitive than other schools in the competition , but the students still showed up with our best , achieving honors and even beating several other school . This shows how the SLAS teachers are very helpful and responsible , educating top-level students to achieve glory . It also demonstrates the fact that the SLAS education system is a very effective tool for students to study in . As a student who had been struggling in math for the past four years , now I am able to achieve high grades in class and do good in competition , therefore I really want to thank all of my past and present math teachers . Hopefully we can continue Math Olympiad , WMC , and other math tournaments in the future , as I feel like it helped me a lot , and made me a better person ”. -Max
