D.C. for me was an ending point, the place I knew I wanted to go after I graduated. But I haven’t graduated yet! I’m not ready to commit myself to a career, I still have a strong sense of wanderlust and numerous items to check off on my bucket list. I realized that I could always come back to D.C., the beautiful city that had stolen my heart would always be there. I shouldn’t rush into my future, I should enjoy the time I have now and take every opportunity thrown at me! I’ve always wanted to go to Europe, so why not go now? I’ve always wanted to take film classes on topics from horror films to comedy, so why not take them now? I’ve always felt the need to give back through service with ARC and the humane society, so why not take time to do so? I’ve always wanted to learn as much as I can about cars and take mechanic classes, so why not do them now? College is the time to fully explore and further your interests, and I should be doing exactly that.

So instead of taking a semester off to further my career, I ended up planning out classes for the fall semester. With a light schedule I’ll be able to volunteer, take up a job, and spend some time working on my car. The future is never set in stone, and I am beyond thankful for that because I have a lot to figure out for my own.
