Get to Know Our Commissioners
The Glenview Park District is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners , who are elected by our park district residents . These dedicated individuals come from a variety of backgrounds , serve the public without compensation and are directly responsible to the electorate . Each Glenview Park District Board Commissioner serves a six-year term . Elections to fill two or three of the seven positions are held every two years .
Read on to learn more about each of your current Park Board Commissioners , including newly-elected Commissioner Cathy Basic . Every new Fiscal Year , the Board elects a President and Vice President for one-year terms at their May Board meeting . This year , that Board meeting will be held on May 27 . The current President is William Casey and the current Vice President is Daniel Peterson .
How many years have you lived in Glenview ? I ' ve lived in Glenview for 24 years .
Why did you choose to run for / serve as a Park Board Commissioner ? Having young children , I felt a need to contribute so they could continue enjoying the well-established Glenview Park District .
What has been the most rewarding part of serving on the Park Board ? Working with so many like-minded citizens and professionals towards the goal of making the Glenview Park District one of the best in the country .

What is one thing you want Glenview Park District residents to know about the Park District ? The Glenview Park District is the largest employer of teenagers in Glenview – working for the District is often the first job for many of our teenagers .
What ’ s something about you that not many people know ? I also serve as a trustee for the Illinois Association of Park Districts ( IAPD ).
